The short answer

How it works
Protected/lifeline: cumulative slab rates. Non-protected: entire consumption billed at the single rate of the slab reached (whole-slab method). Then fixed charges + FCA, then GST and PTV fee.
Worked example
250 protected units in Sindh: energy is billed across the 1–100 and 101–200 cumulative bands, plus a Rs 300 fixed charge and the entered FCA rate, then 18% GST and the Rs 35 PTV fee.
Important assumptions
- Protected status requires average consumption over the last 6 bills at or below 200 units.
- Non-protected bills the whole month at one slab rate, not telescoped like income tax.
- FCA/QTA and fixed-charge figures should be checked against your current bill.
